Be the ‘Go-To’ for Something…What is your niche?
Having a niche and making sure you clients and peers know it allow you to differentiate yourself from everyone else. When you look at those consultants that perform the best, they always have something that no one else has.
Some examples of this are query writing, debugging programming code, Powerpoint presentations, excel functions, training, edit videos, nail art, latest fashion trends, accessorizing.
Be Resourceful
Ironically, in this case, you may not have a niche and you may not have the answer, but Being Resourceful will also make you stand out and be noticed.
You are going to be presented with problems or situations that are completely new to you. Having resources to utilize can help you in these situations.
Some examples of these resources would be other consultants, forums, documentation, etc. You can find these resources within your team, within your organization and with external resources.
However, you must get really good at utilizing these resources quickly so you an delivery solutions/recommendations in a timely manner.
