SL Smith & Associates became a firm in late 2014.

It was a result of the owner, Stephanie Smith breaking out from working for SAP consulting firms and doing it on her own, convinced that the cookie cutter consulting the same way for every one was so frustrating and not getting the job done. She was setting out to make a difference her way.

You will see in our ‘Why Us’ section how our approach is different than the others in the game. Why it will not only meet your needs, but also establish long-lasting relationships for years to come. It’s about you and not us.

We are Here to Make a Difference.

Stephanie Smith

Stephanie is the Owner and Principal Consultant at the firm. She started the firm with a desire to not only just provide SAP support but to change people’s lives. Frustrated with checking the boxes at a large firm, she wanted a more meaningful experience, a relationship, something she struggled to obtain working within large consulting firms that run projects the same way over and over again. She has developed a craft of how to support the client at their stage of the lifecycle/career. This is the foundation on which her company operates.

She is a Certified Supply Chain Management professional with a Manufacturing background that has an in-depth knowledge of SAP Materials Management, Production Planning, and Warehouse Management system functionalities for the last 15+ years. She has diverse experience which includes involvement in aspects of process management, team leadership, mentoring junior level professionals, system implementation process, including proof of concept, business process analysis, testing, end-user and project-team training, and production support. She excels in providing best business practices for the manufacturing industry, with a significant emphasis in automotive as it pertains to procurement, planning and logistic processes. Her knowledge expands from Procure to Pay, Forecast to Stock and Make-to-Stock/Make-to-Order scenarios.

Steve Smith

Stephanie’s husband, Steve, joins the firm in the summer of 2017 full time. We cannot wait! He is a highly motivated enthusiastic professional who has been a business owner himself in the past. He led the day-to-day operations at a $35 million dollar company in his most recent assignment before joining SL Smith & Associates. Steve has a great desire to contribute to business growth and the success of a company. His initial focuses will be to help with business development and growth strategies. However, he will also help establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, procedures and day-to-day supporting operational business decisions.

In the past, he has single-handedly modified fix operational contracts that led to cost reductions over $100,000 for one year. Being a previous business owner, he understands the need to have a solid foundation and grow from there. In addition to his great understanding of operating a small business and understanding all the work that comes with it, he has a breadth of knowledge in business development. From infancy to current state, he built a new sales department that now generates $1.8 million in revenue. In addition to building new streams of growth revenue, he has led overall company sales growth up over 10% year-over-year since 2009. We look forward to him taking us places we never knew we could be!
